MARKET COMMENTARY
- April sales totaled 90,614 vehicles, down 6.8% from last year. Toyota maintained market leadership with 21.4% share despite a 6.7% decline.
- The powertrain mix continues to evolve with SUV EVs growing 18.7% while passenger EVs dropped 52.6%. PHEV sales surged 95.4% to 2,601 units, driven by the commercial segment with 1,335 units.
- Chinese brands delivered exceptional performance, with Chery (+290.9%) and BYD (+127.4%) posting triple-digit growth. New entrants Geely and JAC recorded 324 and 125 units.
- Premium brands defied the market downturn with BMW (+27.8%), Land Rover (+21.3%), and Porsche (+22.5%) all posting significant gains.
